I attempted to but did have a few issue on the first start up with altornator failing then ignition module so it never ran 100% correct for the full 20 min brake in period I had to keep stoping and testing **** to work out all the bugs so I guess the answer would be no I was kinda thinking that also I’m gona tare into it and see what’s going on I don’t think ital go away on its own like other lifter tick this sounds to pronounce gona check cam and if all is good gona attempt to replace all the lifters on that side to rule them what do you think so good ?

That is a good idea. You SHOULD be able to tell if the cam is damaged by carefully looking at the bottom of the lifters. If the bottoms of the lifters look undamaged hope for the best. But I would definitely apply the special lube to the bottoms of the new lifters- they generally supply this lube with new lifters especially if you get a whole set. I would also pull the lifters on the other side and apply this lube.
This would be a good time to check the rocker arm to valve stem clearance especially on the side with the new lifters as they will be bled down. If you have a feelers gauge set that is what to use. In the absence of the instructions on which valves to check in a certain engine position, I believe you can place the engine at the firing position for each cylinder via the timing marks on the harmonic balancer. I can look up the specs for the clearance if I find my Haines repair manual.

One more question if I change my intake manifold to the Eddlebrock one will I need to retune the pcm as it’s speed density and what about long tube headers also will I need a tune if I upgrade these with a speed density computer
The intake isn’t the restriction so I would not be spending any money on the Edelbrock intake. How are you going to tune the computer?
I just figured since I’m pulling it off again wouldt hurt to upgrade the intake and headers and I don’t know how to tune but I would take it to some one that does if it needs to be tuned
…but I would take it to some one that does if it needs to be tuned
Good luck finding someone that can do that. They were all over the place 30 years ago but not so much now. You should do upgrades that will work within the parameters of the SD system.

ya I figured that haven’t even heard of it being done tbh and do uk any that I could do off the top of ur head by chance
Quick question is this exhaust flang that mounts to the manifolds supposed to have those lead rings in between the flanges because the manifold looks like it has a built in ring already to seal against or am I wrong and have to add the lead rings to seal it properly wana make sure I have no leaks so when I fix the lifters I can be sure nothing should be ticking
