Van Stalls while driving
I just signed up and hoping for some expert advises. My 2006 E350 stalls when driving. The van doesn't rattle, make any unusual noises before stalling. No hard acceration or brake, no idliing.. At first the OBD displays P260F. stalled few more times with no code. Dealership thinks maybe the coils, and possibility PCM. Another independent mechanic thinks it may be 0xygen sensor or/and fuel sensor or fuel filter. I am on a tight budget ($1,000) and mechanically inexperience. Watching all these YouTube got me more confused. Can anyone please help ?
My initial thought was to replace Spark plugs, fuel injector, coil pack. they havent been changed in over 8+ years. Is it time to do so now?
The catalyst converter was replaced about 4 years ago. not sure about the 02 sensors though.
Thank You so much.
If it were me, I'd start with the fuel system. Fuel pumps failing on these model years appear to be very common.
thank you for your input. It’s a 5.4 L V8. When you say fuel system. Should I start with Fuel sensor, then fuel filter & then fuel pump? How can I engage if the fuel pump is faulty?
