Can you reduce the declared value so I don't pay import tax?
Sorry, that would be illegal. Fumoto does not edit declared value of items to reduce paid custom tax for your respective country. If you have any questions feel free to contact us anytime.
So, it does appear that the product itself is still made in Japan, not the USA, and is imported in. Just saying...

As for supprting a country by paying a tariff, I guess that is a matter of perspective. Does paying a speeding ticket make it legal to speed?
As to your comment, that's comparing an apple to an orange. My point for responding to Jim's post was that Fumoto valves are not made in the USA. They are still made in Japan and imported here by Fumoto USA.
Edit... I just remembered that I bought a Fumoto valve for my Mishimoto oil catch can that I never installed because I determined it was easier just removing the can out of the truck to drain instead of using the valve and hose to drain it.
So I have a Japanese made valve I don't use and a Chinese made valve that I do.
If it cant be US made, I'd take Jap made as they make good stuff. I'd rather have Made in Taiwan than China, but at times, sometimes it's unavoidable. Hopefully that will change in the future, because of well, the conversation we cannot have.

Looks neat. Only potential downside I see with that design is that you can't really drain the oil unless you have the hose. I guess you could remove the valve with a wrench in that scenario.

But personally like the Votex better as it shorter in length and less hanging out so to speak, if I was going to upgrade to a Made in the USA drain valve.
Votex also makes magnetic drain plugs as well.
I ordered this for my Chicom drain valve on Amazon... passing along to you... FYI. Also ordered the 90 elbow which I should have ordered in first place when I ordered the valve instead of the straight extension. A review stated to add an O-ring for added protection if the lever was accidently opened which is a great idea IMO.
