Oil Change Question??

I am going to tackle my first OIl change on my 6.4 and I was wondering a few things.

1. What is the best synthetic I can use?
2. Does it use the same filter as the 6.0?
3.How much oil do I need?

Also, does any one have a step by step for fuel filter change?

Any help would be great!!

They use same filter as 6.0L PSD. I don't where live, but I have bought this full syn. oil from company call BG Products and 15w-40 oil. I think 6.4L takes 15 quarts of oil I think better look in owners man. I think you can only get ford factory fuel filter for 08 or 09 Super Dutys. I haven't found them after market. Also don't buy aftermarket only filter with cap on them I had bad experience where they leaked on my truck! Buy only factory filters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can purchase eveything for a good oil change at Walmart...The filter is Motorcraft
FL-2016 cost: $ 19.00 and you can get the Ford motorcraft Superduty oil in 5 quart containers for $ 11.00 . There are other brands of oil ...I use Mobil Delvac, I change my oil once a month because it's my work truck. For a filter and oil change...I use about 14.5 quarts.

oils/filters

Hi!
Fuel filters! WIX, Napa gold, ford, try flleetfilter.com for WIX, NAPA, also my oil that I use is Royal Purple (royalpurple.com), Amsoil is great, you choose; It is like everything else, there are other oils out there and filters. (I use Royal Purple in all of the fire equipment that I service at my Department, I use Baldwin, or WIX/Napa Gold filters). Just go on facts everybody has suff to say. There are people on this website that have done research and have the answers. Just because I use this might not be what others use. always contact the manufactures with any questions
If you need help e-mail me at shobbs64@hotmail.com
I hope this was some help to get you going in the right direction.
Good luck,
Steve

the fuel filters are a PAIN the one on top is easy but the one on the frame rail is a pain and you get fuel EVERYWHERE. oil is easy i use rotella and motorcraft filters for oil change. the fuel filter caps have to be torqued to a specific point. my dealer does my fuel filters for $120 (worth it to me). senix has posted some good info on changing fuel filters etc. so ask him.

The one on the frame rail can be a bit messy, make sure you lay down some rags and a pan. It is rather easy to do though and you can save yourself quite a bit of money doing it yourself. Here is a link to oil and fuel filters, both of which are the exact same as you would buy from the dealer at a fraction of the cost.
