I don't really think there would be that much more flow then say one of the other pipes, just because it has the cobra head design at the bottom...
you reminded me of my 06. 6.0
blew a lower hose coupling off , pulling over 30 lbs towing a long cargo trailer and scooting pretty quick..it waited to blow as was passing a guy on a motorcycle
when it blew it sounded like a tire, truck shook and he disappeared
I thought oh crap I just Gatored an unsuspecting traveler
we stopped and luckily the clamps fell onto parts and I was able to get it back on...stopped at walmart..hair net sprayand alcohol for a better fix.
never blew again.
Never saw the scooter after.. I bet He had a heart attack
moral is when i check the oil, I wiggle the couplings now ..
on 6.7 lots easier to get to and see than the 6.0
the rubber cold pressure hose imo seems like a weird after thought

Yeah sounds like you had a little bit of a pucker effect, to be sure...

Mine happened after my DPK kit install when I took my truck for a test ride up the big hill by my house when climbing the hill, heard a big "POP" when the lower boot came off my Rudy's cold pipe and lost power... managed to crawl up the rest of the hill. Opened the hood and was relieved it was only that. Scared the crap outta me. Went back home, cleaned the pipe and boot real good, remembered the hairspray trick that I heard about here, used the wife's hairspray, reassembled and let sit overnight. Been good since then... July 2023..

I'll assume you're referencing Ford's decision to go with a rubber hose for the factory cold pipe?

I cleaned the metal flange thoroughly with carburetor cleaner on a cloth. To ease getting the pipe on the flanges I used glass cleaner, per the H&S instructions. The bottom flange took the most time. I'll take a look at checking the clamps. I tightened them to 90 in/lbs, also per the H&S instructions. But I'm about 600 miles from my torque wrench.
