The OEM pipe came with mesh sleeves. I'm assuming these were for abrasion protection. I'm not sure I can get them off in one piece. But if I can, should they be transferred to the new pipe?
I'm still waiting for my replacement pipe from H&S. No shipping notice. I'm really hoping it comes this week so I can put it on instead of putting the OEM one back on for my trip.
Even though the truck is red, I just think that would be tacky in my engine bay... For no logical reason really. Still kind of up in the air between INJEN and Pusher. I had an INJEN CAI on my old Nissan and I really liked it. They have a lifetime warranty on their Intercooler pipes which I think most of the other do too?
Really was just wondering if there's any dramatic con to any of them.

Injen was one of the best CAI for the Titan. I had the Volant and it was challenging at times. I got it on a group by when first came out. That was a mess.

I had a Volant too... 230 miles to be precise before that piece of **** threw a CEL and I ripped it out. Truthfully it was the filter that did it, but none of the bolt holes lined up either.

That's what we are here for... I have to admit, Injen's dry washable filter media seems like really good stuff... I just didn't like the way the filter seemed to hang really low as seen through the intake hole in the pic for the intake for my truck... I have an S&B and run the filter with a wrap.

I had a Volant on a Suburban I used to own. Never had any issues with it. I chose the Volant because it came with the blue Donaldson PowerCore filter media.

Yeah the Powercore filter used to throw CEL on the Nissan's. Did mine and several other Frontiers anyway. I swapped it to an AEM dryflow I had laying around until I bought the INJEN. I had two of their dry filters. Wash one, put in the spare, switch every other oil change. Always ran it with a sock.
Anyone have an opinion on the SPE XD Cold Side pipe with that "Cobra Head" design?

If there was one bullet proof design, that would be it. I'm saying that because its made from solid metal pipe, and for someone working the ***** off their truck... but it's always possible for silicone boots to pop off first though..
That said, that's a lot of money for one pipe only and probably overkill for the average truck but hey, I'm all for overkill...
I don't really think there would be that much more flow then say one of the other pipes, just because it has the cobra head design at the bottom...
Got my replacement pipe from H&S yesterday and installed it today. The mold seam in the replacement is still present, but smaller. The seam is really hard to get to since it's on the curved part of the pipe, at the intercooler end. I suspect if I tried to trim the seam off I would just make it worse.
The truck seemed to have a lot more get up and go! Not.
A bit late to the party here, but I installed the pusher pipes on my truck last fall. I chose the one piece design for the hot side so as to eliminate any unnecessary potential points of failure. Install was straightforward and the clamps used are top notch. The multiple color choices are nice too, although I went with the relatively basic titanium color.
Can't say there is any noticeable differences in performance (all my performance comes from weight loss and associated tuning), but the peace of mind when towing under heavier boost is nice.
Apparently there is a bit of a break in period with the H&S cold side pipe. While towing my camper, at a rest area within the first 100 miles, both my wife and I wondered what the heck the smell was. Kind of like burning plastic or burning electronics. It was my truck and it was coming from the engine compartment. I think it was the new pipe. No smell at the next stop, so it must have burned off. The turbo has been very active down here in New Mexico fighting a head wind. No kablooie, so life is good.
You'll probably want to tighten hose clamps after you've stopped for the day. I noticed on my hot and cold coupler connections that the clamps needed tightening a few days after installation.
