I use Waze occasionally, so I don't know it's full capability.
However, IF
You plan your route ahead of time, or
Download offline maps
Google maps will get you there without internet connection. Because it uses GPS too...
My biggest issue with Waze, and why I quit using it, is it uses a LOT of data and battery - it is always transmitting your location so others can 'see' you (other 'Wazers' they called it or something). Google/Apple maps don't do that. The GPS does use a bit more battery but not like Waze.

So... don't use Waze.
I used to use it a lot more. But now that Google. Maps has "warnings" that can be added and seen I don't see any advantage of Waze. School me.
There are people who don't just use their screen as a giant apple carplay / apple music screen? I don't even understand why OEMs bother with navigation anymore. Just make it a simple cheap screen that has android auto or apple carplay as the backbone and move on with life.

Based on many responses to this thread, there are a lot of people that want/NEED GPS directions that include width/height/propane data. AFAIK, none of the "free" apps include that.

and obviously the $80 a year fee is quite reasonable for that feature for those that want it. I was merely stating if you don't require that very specific function, than there is a clear option. While I am opposed to subscriptions like heated seats etc., subscription services for "advanced" navigation services and development seems pretty justified.
I tow often. In fact I’m 1300 miles from home right now, having towed all the way here and will on the return trip tomorrow. I tow 5 days a week for the 6 months I operate a seasonal business.
But it’s not an RV so I guess I’m just another “peon”. Why do people feel the need to look down their noses at folks who don’t do as they do?
Remember when there were no WAZE or CarPlay or AA, and the only way to refresh the map was to pay $150 for a disk or SD card? $80 is cheap compared to that and the maps are constantly updated.
I tried it when I first got my truck because it supposedly routed based on trailer height. Unfortunately it annoyingly alerts about every overpass even though it knows my trailer will fit. I'll pass on subscribing when the trial is up.

Have you tried it recently? There was talk here about it being fixed after an update.
