Ford put mine in at the engine plant , I used a 1/2 " long ratchet with a pipe extension , Original IPR never been out of truck before.

The 3/8 extension to the socket was flexing a lot , I overtightened it back in , hope it doesn't break in half when it need's to come back out.

Took a minute to look it up. Ford's spec is 37 ft-lbs.

I wouldn't doubt that MANY high-heat cycles can make it harder to remove. Hardens o-rings also.
