Fleece engine bay replacement fuel filter

I was all Gung ho to order it
I have a concern or question
I think using the Donaldson spin in is great, but
we are still left with disconnecting the plastic weak link fittings to change the element
Any body know of a mount bracket or ??
That would give room to remove filter element without Fiddling with the plastic fuel line fittings that does not require re inventing the wheel

Thanks

I am about to install this on my 2018 - gives you room to swap spin on filter without undoing all line fittings.

I put the blackmarket filter head on my truck, but used an adapter to run the 416-1225 Cat UHE filter.

yes, you cut the QD connector off and use a clamp. I have had 0 issues with it, I would reccomend not using the cat filter in the kit and running the higer efficient Baldwin or getting a thread adapter and using a 1R-0750/1R0749 or better yet the 416-1225.

^^^^ wise words here. BMP is full of it with that being a 2 micron filter, the 150-4142 is a 15 micron absolute fuel filter that is spec'd to top out on a 2.2L compactor. Not exactly the best cross references for a 5.1 micron OEM spec on a 406 cubic inch engine. I would get the 3/4-16 to 1-14 adapter mentioned.

Here is one:

and run a 1-14 filter

Or run a BF46228 which is 4 micron absolute:

If you wanted to retain the QC you could got with this:

https://www.fleeceperformance.com/fo...er-stroke.html

Takes the plastic out of the equation.

Otherwise you would need a 3/16th hose bard on the return fitting.

Unfortunately, the filter Fleece specs for their kid doesn't meet OEM spec, it is 9 microns. Just food for thought.

I do have to ask, how much of a PIA is it to get that filter in there? Isn't it circa 10 inches?

it's is rubber on my 2018, and it goes on a metal barbed fitting on my BMP filter head.

There is plenty of room between the filter and the steering shaft on my truck. I have 2 water seperators and a 1R-0750 upstream of it so I get lots of miles between changes. Thinking about adding 1 more 750 at some point.
