I recently got my truck back on the road and when cold it starts up with the first turn of the key and will run and drive great if I then park somewhere and let it sit for 10-15 minutes I can’t get it to start I’m not sure if it’s a heat issue because of new headers but everything else is stock besides a change from a 2 barrel carb to a 4 would really like to be able to daily drive but I can’t because of this problem any advise or help is much appreciated
When you say can’t get it to start, what do you mean? The starter is not turning the engine over, or the engine turns over fine but will just not start?

Sounds like heat soak on the carb, which is a really common issue. Do a search here for many similar posts, or see my response in post #11 of the thread below.
I just went and read your post I swapped a 2 barrel intake for a 4 and it’s an original cast one I do have a spacer under the carb and a new fuel pump what I’m not sure is if the fuel pump I bought was better suited for a 2 barrel and if I need a bigger one
What kind of spacer between carb and intake do you have? I had the exact same problem and had a factory spacer there, switched to a Phenolic spacer and also got a fuel line insulator sheath from the fuel pump to the carb. Solved the issue.
Problem is after the truck warms up and sits, it actually boils the fuel in the bowl and floods your intake making it difficult to start. The factory spacer usually has water ports to run through it, but it is metal and transmits the heat after shutting the engine off creating the issue.
