Boost fooler? Hot egt's?
On a side side note, the other day I was getting on the skinny pedal a bit and my exhaust got pretty hot. It got over 1,350° and was still climbing when I left off.
not sure exactly where it stopped but, what can I do to be bringing that number down some other than of course letting go of the skinny pedal

I got to wondering if these two things could be related. Could the boost fooler change the fuel injection cycle a little and potentially change the EGT a little bit whether it be one way or the other? Might be a stretch but figured I'd throw it in here in hopes of learning something new.
I have previously checked for exhaust leaks and for boost leaks and came up with nothing. Oil level is good and I just changed the fuel filter with OEM motorcraft. While I was messing around in the engine bay today I found a couple oil leaks. Coming from both valve cover gaskets. The bolts were loose.....
The other thing that was a little interesting is it looked like my crank vent dog house might have been leaking some oil. I meant to find a stubby Phillips head and try and snug it down but got busy. I'll try to get that done tomorrow.
When the exhaust was that hot I was pushing 34 PSI of boost. My next step will likely be to hook up forscan and monitor a few things.
what tune were you running when this happened? were you loaded/ empty, etc.
I just swapped over to a 364 SX-R and CNC 200/30's with 0.83AR. I am having EGT issues on anything from my daily tune and hotter...but only when racing. All though the hot tunes will get over 1250 no matter what. Work in progress for me but I also have an auto.
I'm currently running Andrew Arthur and Gearhead tunes.
I do not recall you having issues in the past, maybe you have since gotten a boost leak. I'm going to hook up a fogger to make sure i don't have any leaks. I know I don't have any exhaust leaks; did the Charlie fish method on exhaust leak testing(which is trickier with a manual but possible)
it will never get past 21 psi of boost, the max I ever saw was 23 and that dropped to 18 real fast.
PHP made a point of keeping EGTs under control.

Do you have the physical air restriction boost Fuller or the electric style?
I haven't been using the street tune much at all. I've been using my tow tune day in day out and haven't switched off of it much at all. Exhaust never gets anywhere near that hot in the tow tune. I switched off of it to show my small block Chevy buddy what real power is like and my exhaust got hot sometime around when I pegged out the speedometer
Here is why I asked about the boost fooler. This is from Jelibuilt's website. I do not get any codes when building boost thankfully.
