Well I replaced the trailer plug two years ago. Every thing worked till last fall. I tested the new one today it has continuity on both ends. Repaired the ground wire cleaned and replaced terminal. Don't have power at the plug. So I pulled down the next connector looks clean no green. Going to back pin the terminals see where the wires are broke. Anyone have had this problem IE pinch point or rub locations? I have Mitchell repair but cant find connector or pin outs. The tail lights work fine on truck. Just not sure where the wires run from other than front of truck.
There is no power to any terminal, t/s, tail, 12volt the only thing that shows its working is the ground. Now that I replaced terminal above spare tire. I relocated where it attached. Moved connector under cross member. So I don't have to mess with spare again. Took me two hours to get spare out. I mounted it back on upside down so I can check air in it. Going to test all pins for continuity in plug see if the wires are grounded in around a hour. Have 245000 miles on truck now.
Well got it fixed. Had to replace about 3 foot of wire by the spare tire wire was black inside. First I tried replacing ground but could only get 6 volts out of wire. No more connector in harness now.
