90 f350, originally 7.3 idi swapped to a 4.9. Truck runs im just trying to clear up some codes. 95 is a secondary fuel circuit code but im not sure where to look to get rid of it. The fuel pump is run off a toggle switch on the dash (mainly for anti theft) so it doesn't touch the fuel relay. Does the pump need to be run through the relay to clear that code or is it something else? I was also wondering if the ecm would control the fuel pump (if it was connected to the relay) while running to adjust voltage, I assume that it would be a continuous 12v and the fpr would manage pressure right? Anyways main question is, how to I get rid of that code 95, where should I start to look. Thanks
For some additional info koeo the relay has 3 wires with 12v and the one that is supposed to go to fuel pump has about 6. When everything is off yellow has 12v, fuel pump wire has resistance to ground of 3.3 and the other 2 wires have resistance of 2.2 if any of that helps
The ECU has one wire to activate the fuel pump relay. The ECU has another wire to monitor the fuel pump circuit to make sure the fuel pump relay is turning on and off when it should.
If the ECU notices the pump is on or off when it shouldn't be, it'll throw code 95.
If you want that code to go away, you'll need to wire the pump through a relay and let the computer control when the pump is on or off. You'll need to connect the fuel pump monitor circuit to the fuel pump power circuit. See ECU pin 22 and pin 23.
