My truck went into the shop to have some warranty **** fixed. I brought it home and had to fill the washer fluid. A reflection from the sun caught my eye. The sun hit that piece of metal juuuuuuust right. I've been arguing with the dealer since Thursday. Wtf is this connection for so I can look up the part and get wtf I need to fix it. Passenger side, battery for reference. Obviously it didn't come from the factory that way and wasn't like that when I bought it, but the dealer says it came in that way cause they didn't touch it.
Looks like someone broke /cut the plug body off so they stuck the pin directly into the socket. That white ring on the wire is a weatherproofing seal that plugs into the back of the plug.
the few times my truck went to a ford dealer for recall work they always included a list of everything they could find that wasn’t ford oem spec and asked me if I wanted to pay to get the items “fixed” .

O when I took it back to them and asked wtf, they are more than happy to make me an appointment, they'll "diagnose" it and call me with their findings. I argued that I didn't bring it in to them like this, but if course they say the didn't touch it.
I'm just trying to find it what it controls so I can order the plug and fix it myself.
