I traded my 2012 in on a 2017 and noticed the headliner is not right around the overhead counsel. How can the factory miss that and my selling dealer? I looked at the truck at night, bought it at night and didn't notice it till I was sitting in the truck during the daylight.
Anybody have an issue with there headliner? Maybe they did my truck on a Friday??
They pulled the overhead compartment down today and said.."Thats not right, we are gonna have to submit that for a warranty issue" I said how did you guys miss this?? He said.."How did the factory miss it?" What are you gonna do?? They said wait and see if Ford sends a new headliner....For the kind of money they charge us this shouldn't have happened, yes I'm complaining about my 60K Truck
Ford will fix this and it's a cosmetic issue. Maybe you should have slowed down a little and done a better PDI yourself? Yes, it sucks to have to take it back in, but the last time I bought a vehicle, I brought my own creeper and went over it with a fine tooth comb before I paid anything. Maybe I'm the only one who will admit I make a mistake or two a day, usually before 0900. At least your steering box isn't falling off, or your tie rods are failing, or your vehicle vibrates unexpectedly, or ???? Ford is pumping these off the line around 1 per minute. Mistake happens and if you start expecting zero failure rate, 100% of the time, then none of us will be able to afford the cost of having 3 levels of inspectors to make sure the headliner is always perfect. If this, along with a few leaky transmission lines is all the failures we are seeing 2 months into a new model run, I'd say Ford is doing a great job with this release.
I didnt get to see mine direct off the truck, Is there a plastic cover in the panel that is removed when it comes in? It almost looks like there may have been and some idiot cut the plastic sheet and headliner at the same time
Same thing happened on my wife's previous SUV. It didn't show up right away. When it did we brought it to the dealer, they submitted a warranty claim, and a new headliner was provided and installed. That's the last time I ever thought about it until this thread. Crap happens. It gets fixed. We move on. Not the end of the world.
I know its not the end of the world, just disappointed really. I'm sure it will get fixed, my service guys always take care of me. Just wanted to vent is all.
even for a measly XL that would be unacceptable. Unless they were giving away trucks in your neighborhood I would be pissed off to see this in any vehicle that I am buying new off a lot regardless of the cost. Speak up for yourself, even though you didn't buy a KR a new truck deserves to look like a new truck even for a little while at least.

Yeah. I agree. I could get mad about it, but sometimes I let things slide. Helps with the blood pressure. I'm sure I could take it in and they would replace the head liner, then it would happen again or I would gain a couple rattles or god knows what, then I would (may) be mad.
I honestly thought it was from the guy cleaning it. Almost like he was scrubbing it too hard.
I was thinking about taking one of those clothes shavers to it.
