rear end gears
I have a 2000 F-250 diesel 4x4, and i need to know what gears i have in the rear differnetial. I have the tag off of the diff., and it says this:
S3 409 H
310 5 0F08
Does anyone know what gears i have?

Look at the sticker on your door jamb and go here

Then go to the rolling chassis link and click on the code sheet link in the third question.

You are missing the first 2 or 3 characters on the second line but your tag says either :
S3 409 H
3.73 10 5 0F08 or
S3 409 H
3L73 10 5 0F08
The S3 is Sterling Plant
409H is the revision number
3.73 is the ratio
3L73 is 3.73 with limited slip
10 5 is 10.5" ring gear diameter
0F08 means this axle was made June 8th 2000.
