Should be on the door tag under the axle code. Also the axle itself should have at one point had a tag bolted to the diff cover.

Check for a tag on the rear diff or check the front diff. The front diff will be .01 higher then the rear. Like if the rear says 3.55 the front will be 3.54. If there are no tags then if you want, jack the rear up and put tranny neutral. Spin the drive shaft around how ever many times it takes the tire to go around once. So if you spin the shaft a little more the 3 and a half times you have 3.55's or if it's a little over 4 times you have 4.10's. You could maybe have 3.73 but I would guess the 3.55 or 4.10. Also check if you have a tag on the rear diff for an L in the gear ratio number, that will indicate limited slip rear end. Sorry for the long response and good luck.

Print off a copy of this chart and take it with you to compare to the axle code on the drivers door pillar.

If you are sure the axle or gears have never been changed. One other way....the messiest is to remove the axle housing cover and count the ring gear teeth and divide by pinion gear teeth, or take the housing off while the rear is jacked up and look for the stamping from the factory on the ford ring gear. Ford stamps the gear ratio and the backlash settings on the ring gear.

Similar to what Post #3 says to do, I find it easier to turn the wheel(s) around once and count how many times the driveshaft rotates.

Lift both wheels off the ground, a Limited Slip differential (if installed) can cause confusion.
