not only 97, but he was still putting in a full day at the shop as late as fall of last year.
although he was having some memory issues. and his "caregiver" was physically abusing stealing money from him.

yes thats a hard fact, he was out here a few years back, layton restorations paid for him to fly out feed and overnighted him to help chop the roof on a lead sled merc, took him a single day

i was talking to the guy who taught ne how to do lead work yesterday and mentioned Genes passing ....and he said Gene was the one who taught HIM how to do lead work back in the 60's
