I'm about to change my power steering pump and pressure/return hoses, it's a job I've never done before and it doesn't look easy. Anyone have some advice? Using factory pressure hose and hose/hose clamp return hose combo that's offered since the factory return hose is obsolete. Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty tired of the factory power steering pump. If I were gunna replace mine, I'd go with a Saginaw conversion, or the factory c2 housing with Saginaw guys in it. And get rid of the Teflon hose fittings and replace them with flare fittings.
What looks hard about it? It really is, super easy. You start in, you'll see, you just have the fear of the unknown, that's all. You'll just start unbolting the thing, and the lines and put the new stuff back in, and then chuckle at yourself for thinking it was hard. You got this.
Oh........well, you will want to run to a parts store and get the power steering pump pulley puller, rental tool. Free from AZ or O'reilly. Unless you have one. I don't because how often do you do that?
There seems to be several power steering pumps for our trucks. I have the double V-belt pulley version. It's great I wouldn't change it. Quiet and works very well. Over 400K miles on it. For removal of mine loosen the adjustment bolt but leave it in. Then loosen the support plate bolts and remove the long bolt on the left side of the pump. Then tip the pump back towards the engine and tighten the adjustment bolt to hold the pump in place while you drain the reservoir with a hand automotive fluid pump, one that fits quart bottles are cheap and good, disconnect the belts and Pump hoses. Then remove the pump. For replacement do the reverse.
Might as well buy some extra fluid and flush the system while you're in there. Also can't hurt to install a filter/magnet combo in the return/low pressure line.
Thank you guys for the answers. I'm thinking it is a fear of the unknown. I got started after posting this, then stood still is i found Napa Auto gave me the wrong pump. Adds up, they've yet to get something right on the first try for this truck. Now I have the right one and plan to tackle it today. Just no idea which line is pressure or return line but I'm sure it will become apparent.

You can always look up parts on RockAuto just to get the actual Ford part numbers and then cross reference that number with NAPA to help make sure you get the right part. RockAuto is a good resource even if you're not ordering from them.
I run straight STP in mine, thick and doesn't leak.
Are you being serious? Hard to tell sometimes. I need to replace mine soon and I am wondering how STP works better then Power steering fluid....Other then not leaking....
I'm really serious, I use stp, it works great, my ps pump used to leak really bad when it got cold, so I used one of the grey bottles of stop leak stp, that stopped the leak permanently. Now when it rarely needs a top off it's regular stp - it's been on the thick goodies for years with no problems, probably 4 years now, I was gonna have to replace the rings or get a new pump or hose, I tried stp first, and it's an effective permanent repair as far as I'm concerned, if it's losing fluid, it's very lubricating so it should help the pump a last long time as a bonus.
My pump is 33 years old and just started feeling jerky and making a noise. It is resisting turning. It always made the high pitched whine like all the ford trucks I had. Time to check it out I guess.

At 33 years it's probably the pump but I once had an issue on my '92 where the steering suddenly became hard and a bit jerky where it turned out the P/S pump was fine but I needed a new upper bearing in the steering column and a good cleaning and lubrication of other moving parts in the column.
