My park indicator micro switch went bad again in my 14 5.0 FX4, so I've been having to jump my truck to start it while waiting for the part to come in, and today when I hooked the cables up, I accidentally put them on backwards and obviously created more issues. I got a new battery in now, and am still getting "battery" and "4x4 service" lights popping up. I'm also not getting any charge while it's running according to my multimeter test at the battery. With my scanner I'm getting codes B1596 and U0114. Where do I go from here? All help is appreciated.

Check the mega fuse on the battery positive cable clamp. Hopefully that's all it did was blow that fuse. Otherwise you may have fried the BCM, only way to tell for sure is running a self test on it with the proper scan tool to see if the bcm is communicating.

Thank you. I'll check those out when I get home from work today.
Im not familiar with how those fuses normally look, but I ran a voltage test from the negative side of the battery to that post and didn't even get 1v, so I got one ordered which will be in tomorrow, and I'll see where that gets me.

Sounds like you found the problem, probably be a good idea to pour some baking soda/water mix or a carbonated drink over the terminals to clean them a little then let them soak in penetrating oil until you get the replacement. Could be all the difference between replacing just that or having to do the whole cable assembly.

That seems to have fixed my battery issue, but I'm still getting the "check 4x4" light. Any idea what I should check for that?
I replaced around 6 fuses and fixed most issues, but am instantly popping fuse 20 to the 4x4 even with the key off and 4x4 disengaged. What could be causing this and what should I check for now?
Need to scan it for codes first. It'll likely point right to the source of the problem. You may have wires chewed thru so look for any of that especially underneath near the xfer case. Follow that harness to its end, you'll see any damage if there is any.
