Politically Correctness

I know that any words coming from my user name are not in keeping with the "family atmosphere" of this site, but I am not going to post anyway.

Reading the White bashing thread got me to thinking about political correctness.

Do you think that we are going too far with political correctness?

Start the rants now.

"Do you think that we are going too far with political correctness?"

Many are. I am not. I refuse to bow to the oxymoron that the term is.

I believe in good manners. Anyone that wants to make that a political thing can have at it.

I just don't understand why political correctness only applies to the minorities. Anybody can call a white person any name, and no one cares, but mention a minority and any way, and you better be watching what you say. Take Rush Limbaugh, and his "racist" remark. If a black guy had said the exact same thing about a white quarterback, nobody would've even noticed. And it's not so much the political correctness itself that bothers me, its when people try to enforce it. Don't try to force me to think its ok to be gay, and I don't have to love people just because they're not white.

p.s. I'm not racist or anything like that, I just don't like being told what to think.

I personally believe this politically correctness thing is over done. It is important to be sensitive to others feelings. I try not to offend anyone I am around by making comments that I think will be offensive - unless, of course they have ticked me off, then the offensive comments are intentional!

However PC is way over done. Let's all just be kind to one another and forget thgis PC stuff!

IMO the reason is: the whites do not immediately jump all over it and cry racism.
If they were, to……..after a period of time, then things would change…….but it never will

PC is much like anything else that comes out of ones mouth. On any given day if the listener does not like what someone says or the way it is stated, it can be considered politically incorrect.
Resulting in a deference of opinion, confrontation, legal action, loss of friendship…….all kinds of weird things that do not necessarily make sense to everyone who heard the original statement.

SOMETIMES it can all be in the listener

Well, that or we both need to learn to avoid the Wacko Women.

I think I'm getting close to figuring it out;

I got myself a wooden dog.

And, I'm about to start whittling on a woman next!

Yes, overall Political Correctness has gone too far. While some people don't get into that and i am one of them, many people will. If someone does something to me and I say something about it, I would not care what race, religion or anything else about that person.

I just hate how many companies are forced to be politically correct because if they aren't they will get into trouble. On my parents job, if they are hiring 10 people at one time, at least 5-6 will be some minority. Because if a white american gets the job first, they will cry discrimination. In my mind, companies should get back to what they should have been doing and hire for a job the person who is most qualified. I think that is why alot of companies are failing or are not as big as they were. Because they are forced to hire people who cannot do the job, while people who can do the job are either unemployeed or working for a lesser company.

That is my take on this
