Exhaust filter problems

Hi everyone I'm new to this and I have a big problem with my 2010 f250 6.4 . I keep getting the message to drive to clean exhaust filter and I drive it until it says cleaning exhaust filter but when it says it is finished then it goes right back to drive to clean exhaust filter any ideas why it doesn't clean the filter . Thanks in advance for your help

The DPF is probably plugged up from 15 years worth of use if I had to guess. The other possibility is a bad pressure sensor. There are businesses that do DPF cleaning, google around to see which ones are close to you, below is a link to just one such company that offers DPF cleaning services..

Thank you for the advice unfortunately I took it to the dealer and they are saying it's the high pressure fuel pump we will see if that solves the problem

Dealership techs are just parts changers. They plug in the scan tool and replace whatever part the scan tool tells them to.

There is no understanding, no troubleshooting, no thoughts going through their brain.

I’d bet every penny I have ( and every penny I could borrow) that they pulled a code that said something about the hpfp and grunted “ needs a new hpfp” (which is a cab off job typically).

Good luck, hope you have $8,000 to $10,000 sitting to give to the dealership so you can leave there with more issues than you went in with.
