Has anyone figured out, yet, how to get your slide-in camper to start charging the house batteries on remote start (i.e. and without depressing the brake pedal)?
I've searched the forums to no avail.. so I'm thinking its still not possible.
My DC to DC charger has an Anderson connection directly from the passenger battery so as soon as I start it and my trigger wire senses 12v it starts charging.

Hate to hijack this tread but do you worry about how much more wear and tear is Being put on the alternator?

No. It's only a 40amp DC to DC charger. If the dual alternators can't handle a 40amp additional load then something is wrong. I also don't have the camper living on the truck and the charger is pretty smart so it has bulk charge, float charge and then maintain so it only demands 40amps if the batteries are below 80%. Above 80% it float charges probably about half the amps or less somost of the time it isn't demanding the full 40amps. My batteries can handle 200amp charge input but between 800w of solar and the DC to DC charger it can do 412AH from dead in just a couple hours with a small load on the batteries.

No because these are bigger alternators than what was used in years past, when anything connected to the 12V and ground pin in the trailer plug would start charging as soon as the vehicle started. Those used to only have 100-125 amp alternators, now we're getting some that are as big as 250 amps, and multiples getting you up to 410 amps on the 6.7. There's not enough extra wear and tear being put on the alternator to worry about.
