I don't know if i am missing something. I have FordPass connected from factory. I used Forscan to enable remote start in all the places i could find it. No matter what i do i can not get the remote start option to show up on my app.
Am i missing a setting, hardware or will it just not work?

If you didn't have factory remote start then I wouldn't think it would work just by enabling it on Forscan. There is a remote start kit you would need to install but even then I'm not sure how it would work on Ford Pass.
Remote start and the Ford PassAPP are 2 different things. My XL even has remote start through the FordPass App. It required nothing to setup. Dealer showed me how to add app and connect vin and poof it was there and activated. As I was driving to pick up truck I was already getting emails and text that the dealer was activating it.
Mine is also an XL. I don't need a remote fob as i know that would require extra hardware. It just seems weird that the remote start is not showing up on mine when everyone elses is working fine.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app? Did you get the "Activate Vehicle" button, and did you get the confirmation on the Sync screen?
I have an XLT and do not have remote start with the key fob. I do have remote start with the Ford Pass app though.
i have same setup, can remote start from fob be enabled through forscan? I see videos that ppl add remote starts to them with ford kit. I would not think additional kit would be required if it works under the app already. Been searching and cannot find answer either way

I'm guessing that there has to be another module added for a fob start. Hopefully someone comes along to help the OP out.
I tried to add key fob remote start to the new ordered truck the day the order went in. But either Ford didn't add it or the sales manager didn't get it in on time. I can skate by with the FordPass starting for the limited number of times I use it.
If you already have remote door locks, you can add remote start by adding the Ford Perimeter Plus Security System. It adds remote start via Lock/Unlock/Lock and runs about $170. Installation instructions are on this thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ty-system.html
