P0281 intermittent

My truck began running rough at idle and low rpm once in a while. Replaced ficm due to low ficm voltage which solved that issue. But I still have an issue when once in a while I'll come to a stop and the truck starts running rough and code 0281 pops up. Truck had all new injectors installed about 15k ago

Maybe the #7 injector harness plug isn’t fully in?

I'm assuming this is under the valve cover?

Did you unplug it and then make sure to plug it in fully? Sometimes they look…and feel…fully plugged until you pull a bit harder and they’re not

If that’s not it maybe you got a bad injector, or maybe the oil ring on that one is leaking somehow

I only looked at it and it looks the same as the others in that bank. What would cause an o ring or the whole injector to fail? Maybe the ficm fried the injector from being low voltage?

Ahh, I was thinking the FICM was replaced before injectors. That could’ve done some not good stuff…but also just maybe you got a bad injector

At installation if an injector o-ring was nicked, or if the oil rail nipple o-rings were reused they can leak over time

well the whole bulletproof was done by powerstroke specialty in georgia so it looks like then the ficm claimed an injector. Yay.....hope this isn't a time consuming job..truck runs amazing when the injector isn't acting up

Hopefully it’s simple. I’d definitely unplug and then plug in the injector just to see

I'm new to 6.0 injectors but it looks like there's a metal tab that gets pulled out to release the plug

Keep in mind it is a contribution code, and not an electrical code.

More likely IMO.

You could have a small high pressure oil leak at that injector.

would that cause it to happen after cruising on the highway and coming to a stop....this is the only time it happens, after a long drive and then coming to a stop....clears up after driving again for 2 to 5 minutes
