Hood Liner Troubles

The felt hood liner on my '03 has been sagging since new. It is under warranty and taking forever to replace because every one that has been shipped (3) has been damaged. The dealer has ordered yet another. Has anyone else noticed this drooping hoodliner problem?

I took mine off. I personally think they hold in heat and since I want my engine to run cool I pulled it.. I know its meant for noise insulation but I didn't really notice a difference.

Bear in mind that it also has some thermal insulation qualities that slow down the rate of damage to the paint on the hood from engine heat.

Ya know, I thought about that. Of course it was after I threw it away that I thought about it but it has been off for a while and havent had any trouble.

I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it. 1997-98 Expys didn't even have one.

Well, I finally got the new one..It's not a big deal but it's interesting to see how the local dealer performs on this type of stuff. They also seem somewhat miffed about brake dust, LS differential noise, and rattles. I fear that I will have to tell them the TSB Nos.
