Howdy folks,
I was driving home early this morning from the gym and went to switch lanes and when I did my turn signals would not flash on either the right or left. My initial drive to the gym my turn signals were working fine.
I was doing some research and checked my fuses (all good) and replaced my turn signal relay and no joy. My hazards, high beams, and third brake light work.
The only other thing that I figured it could be would be the multifunction switch. I was playing around with it and if I held my hand with the switch in just the right position the signal would turn solid for as long as I held my hand in that spot; not sure if that means anything. When I use the multifunction switch normally I still hear a singular click when indicating either turn.
Is there anything other piece that I'm missing that I should check or is the multifunction switch what I'm looking for to solve it?
An update for my thread if it helps narrow down my issue.
I have check all my fuses under the lower left of the driver's side dash and have replaced both the turn signal flasher relay and the hazard flasher relay.
I have also put in a new multifunction switch from NAPA and still nothing. All other lights work; I can only see the turn signals light up when I have my hazards on.
Anyone have any ideas? I cannot find anything online.
All I can offer is, are all the bulbs good? If one bulb on one side is bad, the other bulb on that side would illuminate, but not flash. Are the grounds clean and tight on all contact points?
Thanks anyways, but it was the funkiest thing I've done to it yet.
I just did a continuity test on my two old flashers I pulled off and they both beeped. Then I pulled off my new flasher that I got from O'Reillys (which was a hair longer but still the same 552) and it did not beep.
Put in my old one and it magically works again. Dumbest problem yet but thankfully it's solved now. Guess my stock one decided it wasn't going to work for a day.
Perhaps in this whole adventure, it was reseating that original bulb that made the difference. This is interesting. Thanks for sharing and following up with the resolution!
