NFL season is over. It's Tuesday. I just can't get into the rhythm. No rhyme nor reason. I put on the game day orthopedic shoes . I made ribs. No game on. I just can't get used to it.

I saw that All Star game. That's the best that The NBA could do to entertain?

I couldn't stop at the leather jacket and the fedora hat. I bought those "Indy Boots" because it was what Indiana Jones fought ***** in. The manufacturer used to call them the model no. 403. Now, the manufacturer actually lists the shoe in their catalog as "Indy Boot". Harrison Ford wears these shoes because he has messed up feet. Only problem is that I don't have foot problems, and have zero reason to wear an orthopedic shoe. I only wear them to make The X upset. I wear them with the hat and the jacket. She actually gets mad, and yells. " Why are you dressed like that? Take those stupid shoes off your feet. People see them and think that there's something wrong with you."

Count your blessings! Try finding shoes when you have an 8-1/2 F foot with a very high arch! A 10 to 10-1/2wide kinda fi, but…..

The Fedora and leather jacket are still cool. 😁

We’ve dried out some up here, but another storm is in the forecast. I’m taking the Bronco in for a Front end check and alignment in the morning. Don’t want to prematurely wear out the new tires.

Aside from that, things are quiet here.

@04badford, Hats off to Bubbles (even though she’s a Duck and not a Beaver), married to a teacher and my parents were teachers. A Nobel calling as long as you can keep her from drinking the Kool Aid. Memsahib has been teaching Special Needs for several years

Allen Edmonds and Alden offer shoes up to EEE. May be worth looking at.

Or you just have get your shoes made to order. At least those Pacific Northwest boot companies still do that.

I can’t argue the PNW boots when I’ve worn out two pair and still have 3 pair of White’s and a pair of Nicks. The fun part is that they are older than a bunch of my coworkers and still going strong.

I’m just dreading the day I need to replace a pair since they are now over $500 a pair. At least with the longevity they become more reasonable, since I used to destroy a pair of Justin’s in 6 months.

Why don't you just rebuild them? Those boots are made so that you can rebuild them.

They had been rebuilt. But once certain parts wear out the manufacturer won’t rebuild them any more. Considering that I got 25 years of hard use before the uppers/shafts gave up the ghost, I got my money’s worth.

Much better value than buying cheap shoes that last a year. They can rebuild every part except for the uppers. I have heard that most boots can get resoled twice, and rebuilt once. In today's dollars, maybe at around $1,000. If you bought cheap boots for the last 25 years, that would have cost what? $200 a pair, new pair every year.........

This is what I wear most of the time. The junk that they issue annually as part of the uniform. Postal, correctional, law enforcement......... your basic uniform boots. Practical. Not that good. It won't last 25 years.

Good enough for me. I can trample through dark alleys and wade through the filth of a public restroom. They are built like sneakers. Instant comfort from day one. No breaking in. Just like sneakers, they won't hold up if you actually need a work boot.

Frank's has a pair which sells for $359.

I always wanted. PNW boots. The big concern is that I don't need a thick, heavy boot, built like a tank. I would never be able to wear them down, to get my money's worth. I have Thorogood, Tony Lama, Red Wing, Wolverine, etc..... all over a decade old, that aren't even close to being worn down. I'm just not on road crews, construction sites, in trenches and utility vaults, stepping into mud, or climbing poles. I could get by with Velcro sneakers from the nursing home. I can spend the rest of my days in senior citizen shoes.
