Amp ground wire and hall sensor

Been searching to no end and can’t seem to find an answer. I see videos of people using the driverside battery and others saying you must run the ground through the hall sensor on the passenger battery. I have a 2022 f250 6.7 that I’m adding a couple of amps and a zen a2b. Zen recommends their unit along with the amplifiers to be grounded directly to the battery. I’ll be running two 2awg cables. One for power and one for ground. Also, to those who have done this, where is the best place in the fire wall to pull the wires into the cab? Looked at the passenger side grommet but couldn’t see it on the inside under the dish. Do you have to remove the glove box and cabin air filter housing to see this grommet in the interior of the truck? Thanks for any help

Years ago on my 2006 SD I installed an amp behind the back seat. I grounded it to the metal body panel a few inches from the amp by drilling through the metal under the carpet, scraped away all paint, then with a stainless bolt/nut secured it to the body. I too used large 2G wire. Amp worked fine for years until someone else decided to take my truck from the driveway.

Ground it to the body or frame. They are already connected to the battery through the hall sensor.

believe me, I wish I could. I called Nav-TV and spoke with them about their unit and they said the zen and the amplifiers need to be connected directly connected to the battery negative for the unit to function properly. People online are doing it both ways, to the driver battery without going through the hall sensor and those that do pull the ground through the hall sensor and use the passenger battery

If it were mine I'd just ground to the chassis and see if it works. Seems like a lot of extra work to run a ground to the passenger battery.

Isn't there suppose to be a grommet under the drivers seat - or on the drivers side?

Worst case could be to run a wire from the PS side batter (through the Hall Sensor) and into the rear of the cab through the vent on the rear of the cab.

I'd just ground it to the frame first and try that.

I would use the Pac Amp Pro System...If you have the B&O system..you will have better results..There to much BS..with the Zen..

I would connect to the chassis near the amp with a large gauge wire which is larger than your hot wire. I think the manufacture recommends the battery ground due to many DIYrs don’t know how to ground something properly, ie; be sure its bare clean metal no paint, rust or dirt. Also be sure you have quality wire and crimps not just braided wire jammed under a bolt.

Good luck,

Mike
