This morning I received a message through FordPass saying that my truck was put into deep sleep mode. Well after this I came to find that my truck would not unlock via fob or through the door handle lock cylinder(mainly because it doesn’t exist on my truck). I had to hook some jumper cables to the starter to get it unlocked. I went and had the battery and charging systems tested and everything came back as good and normal. My question is, is this something the app initiates? I’ve read some posts and threads stating it’s from the app. I read some that says it needs an update. Just not sure due to me being new to Fords. I have a 2019 F250 6.2. No extra light bars or anything, all stock.
Deep sleep should not prevent you from opening the doors. Deep sleep shuts down things to prevent battery drain after the truck sits for some time (10-14 days seems to be common). Even if you have the truck on a maintainer, it will still go to sleep if not started for that extended timeframe. If the truck batteries are good, make sure the battery in your fob is good. If the fob and the truck batteries are good, you have something else going on.

Must have something else going on then, I drove the truck all day yesterday and it was fine. I guess I just need to see if it happens again. The. Go from there. Thank you

Are you saying that your truck doesn’t have a door lock cylinder?
Very strange. I have never seen a vehicle that uses a fob that doesn’t have a key in the fob and a lock cylinder in the door. I have seen them in strange places but never not there.
Did you buy the truck used and the previous owner removed it?

Bob
I believe the previous owner did. The truck was from Texas and I read that vehicle thefts are pretty high that way. Apparently if they have the lock cylinder, all you have to do is grab it with a set of channel locks and turn it and it will unlock the door. So I am assuming that’s what happened to it.
If it went into the deep sleep mode after only 14 hours there's definitely something wrong.
This. There must be a pretty decent parasitic draw or a bad battery to kill a 6 month old battery (or batteries).
In the mean time, if there is no other way to make entry into the truck I would probably mount an external jumper kit so you don’t have to go to the starter again.
Time to do some testing unfortunately unless mostly very short trips. Parasitic draw perhaps or a dud battery.
most of my trips are only about 5 miles round trip and that is being generous. Are these trucks like the Nissan Armadas and not charge up the battery unless it’s a pretty long trip?

Yes, I have the same issue with my wife’s Mazda. I bought a Bluetooth connected battery monitor from Amazon that I use to keep an eye on her battery state.
When it gets low I either take it for a day and a good run or top it off with the charger, I like to periodically drive her car to keep an eye on it for potential issues anyway so it works out.
