GMRS mounting options
I'm holding off on mounting up my radio gear until I get the flatbed here in a few weeks. Did you put the flatbed on, or have an upfitter do it? I got the flatbed included with the truck to make sure the dealer is on the hook for any configuration stuff the upfitter can't do or I can't do with Forscan. The dealer has Maxey Truck Fitting up in Ft Collins doing it. I'm just hoping they don't butcher the wiring & its not a pain to fill up the fuel or DEF tanks. I'm expecting to have to fiddle with cameras & some config stuff a bit. I know BLIS is toast & obviously anything the tailgate.
Mounting the antenna is my primary blocker. I'm a little restricted if I want to be able to park it in the garage. The headache rack is likely to not fit as it is. No sun roof, so a NMO in the center would work, but I'm loathe to drill a hole in the brand new truck. I probably have room for a https://bulletproofdiesel.com/collec...-duty-90201129, but it's spendy. The headache rack will be a worse ground plane than the NMO in the roof. None of those options will permit any kind of antenna, but just a cap on the NMO for the roof or brake light should fit. The hood is always a place, but sacrifices convenience for coverage due to a lopsided ground plane & the cab blocking stuff.
