P160A Code

I recalibared my tire size on forscan. I don't have any codes on dash but have the code above listed. Is it ok to still drive truck? Should I be worried? Thanks

Assuming you did everything correctly and have no drive ability issues or CELs, you should be fine. My truck had that same code after changing tire size and I ran for quite some time with it.

Did you eventually get it cleared? What did you do? I've read that some trucks "hold" the code but i'm not sure what that means. Does that mean that it is showing the code but its not actually taking effect?

Some trucks seem finicky and keep this code. I ended doing something different with FDRS with the help of @ZooDad and got it to clear that way.

I understand. Do you think you would have been ok running with the code still present? Sorry, just paranoid. Brand new truck. Just has me worried a little.

Nope. I would have keep running with it if I needed too as my truck didn’t have any issues other than it being there.

Thanks for reply and ease of mind. I guess I'll just keep running it like it is. It seems fine. I would prefer it be gone but not the most tech savy on how to get it removed. Thanks again.

I’m looking to do the same thing so I’ve been doing a little research. Some of the YouTube videos are less than helpful. The guy in this video explains each step of the process if your truck has the PowerStroke Diesel. You have to change the code in the PCM module, the TCM module next, and then the AWD module last. After that you clear the 160 code. The comments were very help as well, learned on the 7.3 gas trucks like mine you can’t reprogram the TCM so just skip that part.

I actually watched that video and learned how to do it. My code is still there but, Rocky, the guy in the video said it was all good. I messaged him. I think if you do 2799 and have the 3:31 axel you will get the code. But from what I gather the code is "frozen" so its not actually in effect. My truck is working fine so Ill probably just forget about it unless someone can walk me through the process to clear it.

Like stated, some trucks will clear it and others won’t.

Good to know. I just picked up a set of Tremor tires and wheels and need to change the tires size, and also I’d like to lower the rear tire pressure to 65 psi. Some of the videos I watched remind me of the home improvement shows my wife is always watching. They lay two tiles, and then after a commercial break the whole room is done in minutes…
