Sorry if this is a dead horse, but the search function here didn't provide the answers I wanted. My 2023 F-350 Lariat didn't come with the engine heater, and I want to add it. The quote I received from my local dealer for parts and installation was $1,325 if they could recover the coolant. That seems insane, so I guess I will do it myself. Are these the parts I need?

Renove radiator cap
Place some plastic wrap over the hole.screw cap back on
Then quickly remove the block plug
And screw in the heater
then remove plastic and top off coolant after you let it warm up and take what it needs from degas bottle
1200 is frucking crazy
If you also buy something like this https://www.cpsproducts.com/product-details/550000/
and leave it under vacuum while removing the plug and replacing with the block heater. It should hold vacuum well enough to keep the coolant in the block.
