I probably wouldn't do PPF (Paint Protection Film) aka clear bra. I had the whole front end of my daily drive clear bra'd, it looked fantastic for 5 or 6 years, but then all the little scratches started piling up and other people's exhaust and other crap fill in the scratches and look black. All said and done that was surfaces that were lightly washed never scrubbed and nothing set on it, drug back and forth, or abused. It looks bad enough at this point that I want to remove it, the paint underneath looks perfect. Now imagine dragging stuff back and forth over it and actually using it. There's no fixing clear bra, you have to remove it, without pulling off the paint... if the bedliner got to looking a little sad you could just scuff it up and spray another layer on it.
I also used Upol Raptor, but on my Ranger just did black, the color matching options even include metallic flake and and - but cost more than basic black.
When I haul stuff in the back of my 54 F100 I put down 2×2 foot mats my wife used in her pre-school. And they fit behind my seat when not in use. Like this:
So 2 side by side cover the width and 3½ pieces cover the length if needed. I used them to haul fire wood to Truckstock. Then I also put them up the front and side of the bed.
I like what you did. I was thinking about doing something similar with 1x2 rectangular tubing on its side with 1/8 inch aluminum diamond plate.
What thickness tubing did you use?
Even the bedliner looks good.
To respond to the OP, the tailgate looks awesome, and usable.

If I remember correctly the wall thickness is .065.
Considering the fender flange extends above the bolt hole what are uou planning for the now increased gap between fender and bed sides? Butyl, rubber bead gasket or something else.
