I have a Retrax MX Pro retractable tonneau cover and was looking for a way to keep dust and water out of the bed around the tailgate area. I ended up settling on the Rok Block XL gasket made by ESI for the gap between the bed and tailgate, and also used tapered gasket from ESI for the sides of the bed where the tailgate closes. Install of Rok Block and tapered gasket requires good surface prep with alcohol wipes and they included a paint marker filled with adhesion promoter. Both seem to be a good products, but I wanted to caution people that have spray-in bed liners since the additional thickness of the Rok Block kept the tailgate from closing since the excess gasket folds down into the gap between the tailgate and the back of the bed. If I had realized this in advance, I would have ground down the excess bedliner material at the edge of the bed where it meets the tailgate to avoid the issue. As such, I was able to adjust the tailgate with the Rok Block installed, but it was difficult to access to lower torx bolts on the tailgate hinge mounts on the bed to create additional clearance with the tailgate in place. I also was able to gain some clearance by loosening the bolts on the hinge brackets mounted to the tailgate. Photos below taken before I touched up the paint so the movement of the brackets is visible. Overall, it turned out to be more involved than I was anticipating, but got is figured out and the tailgate closes/opens normally now.
Rok Block conforms well to the tailgate. Tailgate hinge bracket adjusted to gain additional clearance Hinge bracket on bed adjusted to gain additional clearance.
I had spray in bed liner in all three of my trucks I had installed this on and never had any issues with it.
I suspect my Linex installing dealer let the bedliner material build up a bit too much near the gap with the tailgate when they sprayed it. Glad you havn't had any issues with your installs.
Better than my Truxedo seal that is falling off after 3 weeks.
I've been impressed with the adhesion of the 3M tape that ESI uses on their various tailgate seal products. I think initial surface prep is also really important. I cleaned with a normal rag, then with alcohol prep pads, then with adhesion promoter. Also let the adhesive cure for a day in my 70 degree garage before taking out into freezing temps.
I had a Bed Rug in my 2016 F250 without any other bed liner and no 5th wheel. Really liked it. Now that I've got my 2022 F350 LB, I am having spray in bed liner applied next Tuesday. Thinking of how to cover the bed/tailgate gap. Like the idea of Bed Rug mat, but how will that impact using 5th wheel hitch?
It looks like you have cut-outs for the 5th wheel pucks, is that correct?
I've opted to keep my Pullrite 20k I had with the 2019 short bed with universal rails, but will add the OEM puck kit.
Thanks for any insight.

You can cut the BedRug. I cut out spots for my LED bed lights and the button and it was pretty simple. It seems like I’ve seen others mention they just cut out circles and kept the cut outs to put back when not in use.

When we bought a 40’ Weekend Warrior 5th toyhauler, I installed a hitch that had the rails under the bed, only 4 round holes were cut in the bed itself & the bed mat. Worked great, gave me total use of the bed when hitch was out.
i’m installing the RoxBlock talpered side seal & 7” tailgate seal today on our 21 F350 w/factory sprayed liner. Appreciate the tips!
