Lug-Nut Question

I'm guessing I already know the answer, but here it goes.

Are the lug-nuts on the 2024/2025 F-150 still the same "junk" ones with the cheap caps pressed on??

Am considering a 2024-2025 F-150 King Ranch, and am figuring up what I'd have to spend to get lug-nuts where they are not like the factory ones I've seen in the past.

Thanx

Stockers will last a while if you get 6 sided 21mm socket and keep the impact wrench away.

McGard are about $160+ for a full set. I'm not sure what the seat is for your truck. Taper or ball-- you have to confirm before you order.

I did check McGard and didn't find a listing for '24.

I checked Gorilla and same thing--no listing and a note on fitment cutting off at '23.

So something changed in the lug nut area......

You may have to suffer the stockers for while.

I wouldn’t worry about the lug nuts too much. I sure wouldn’t replace them first thing. I’d wait until they become a problem. Or upgrade when you replace the tires. We have 3 ford pickups in the family and haven’t had any issues with lug nuts.

Thank-you for the replies !! WE haven't pulled the trigger on a new truck "yet". Was kinda hanging on, until I see if FORD has any decent programs, with hopefully some discounts, and good interest rates. Biggest problem right now is wife and I can't agree on a color. IMO, FORD, needs better color choices.

Agreed. Wait until they cause a problem and then throw them for distance.

Took me about 12 years each on a couple different Fords before I threw away the cheapo OEM lug nuts. Even then, you can rip off the chrome cover and use a smaller socket until the rust gets real bad.

I would replace them unless you always hand remove them. Impact wrenches distort the caps. Don’t wait until you are on the side of the road changing a flat and find out you can’t get your lug wrench on them. You can find single piece lugs on Amazon for about 60 bucks.

I replace them when they start getting hard to get a wrench on, usually that takes 3-4yrs with the 5000 mile rotations I do. I also do the opposite of most and just buy OEM nuts and replace them one at a time as needed.
