What happens when you put the old wonderboy (My J. Gordon) in an Iroc car? He can't win. He has a good crew and a lot of laundered money to spend.
Dodge is new to the sport again and in it's infancy already has Ryan Newman With more Bud Poles and wins that anybody.
My man Kenseth was just lucky and pretty consistant all year.
Hat's off to the Cat in the Hat for finally getting a championship. I only wish that it would have been with Mark Martin. Jack has brought a lot of improvements to Nascar over the years including restrictor plates (which I hate) and the life saving roof flaps.
Mark may not have a championship yet, but he is one of the most respected drivers out there. He doesn't whine and moan everytime a little back luck goes his way. He doesn't get out and cuss, jump on opponant's cars or throw things just because things don't go his way.
I like him because he is a clean driver, and a good family man. And you gotta like a guy who has kahuna's big enough to ride around with Viagra on his car!!
I've never liked Valvoline oils, but I have stood behind Mark every since I can remember.
If he drove a pink Tampax car next week, I would still be one of his greatest Fans.
Jimmy

Did I mention who has the most IROC championships, where the cars are equal?
Must be the greatest driver, Mark Martin.

"... and lumping everybody that has a sticker on their truck as a redneck... that's stereotyping. Seems like I could lump you in the small minded simple people stereotype as well... but then I would be calling myself one too. It's a free country, thank you for your opinion. If people want to put stickers all over their rig then let 'em."

HaHa, that's funny. I have a sticker on my truck, too. I must be a redneck.
Dude, just have fun with it.
I just think its funny when people jump on the bandwagon of blasting someone who wins a lot. It cracks me up.
BTW....my wife is trying to learn Nascar in order to spend some time with me during race season...the book of choice? Nascar for Dummies, written by Mark Martin.
Don't take things so SERIOUSLY!

I expected to get some spirited responses when i started this thread. I didnt expect the anti-redneck rhetoric. If being proud of the driver you root for is "redneck" than count me in.
As far as Jack Roush, if he would take a few lessons from Mark Martin on how to lose with class, I would be more likely to support one of his Ford drivers. It is a shame that somebody who is that smart and brings so much to the sport has to act so immature when he loses (did anyone read his interview on the cover of USA Today the weekend before Kensenth clinched the Championship?) Mark Martin is the probably the classiest guy on the circuit and Jack Roush could learn a lot from his own driver.

...if you've ever shaved a #3 in the hair on your back.......you might be a redneck.

If you have enough hair on your back to shave a number into it, you should see a barber.

Story is (true or not, I don't know), is that Joe Gibbs is going back to coaching.

Not sure what will happen to his race teams.
