need some help with a wiring issue, I just installed a new headache rack on my E99, everything works great except for my back up lights, they dont fully illuminate, I tapped into the truck harness backup light wire thinking that would work and apparently I was wrong, they are LED on the rack, do I need to do something different?
It is likely that you don't have a great ground either from the backup lights to the headache rack or from the headache rack to the truck bed. Since you say everything else works well I would look at the ground from the backup lights to the headache rack first.
I appreciate the reply and will look at the ground first, the only ground that I know of for the rack is on the frame rail in the wire harness, it’s an aluminum rack

I would first verify there is both +12V and a good ground at the lights, and if there is, swap the positive and ground wires. LEDs are polarized unlike regular lights and won't work if you connect them "backwards."
