I'm interested in this as well. Hopefully someone comes along with an answer. In the meantime, you might want to start a new thread for the same thing over in the Modular V10 (6.8l) forum.
Has anyone gotten an answer to this yet. Looking for same info for V10 RV
in short, no. If you're in the US perhaps a visit to a dealer would shed more light (with your VIN and engine code) but I can't find info anywhere.
TBH, the most stressful part for me was confirming which heads I have on mine - from the right hand front wheel well you can see the part of the head with the casting number - that will tell you which heads you have - can be pretty difficult to read, but it is there. IC2E is what you want to see there - that's the "PI/LP" Performance Improvement, Long Plug Thread head.
good luck in your search - if you do find it anywhere come back and let us know 🙂
cylinder head code casting number 2002/3 Triton V10
there is 2 sticky threads in this area that might lead to some help https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum49/ the v10 area it self holds a lot of information to be found within the old threads
otherwise what are both of you looking to find out about?

I'm not really looking for anything now that I know what heads I have, that's what I was initially looking for; security/knowledge that I don't have the short thread/blown plugs heads.
your 2003 was long a safe one, early 4.6, 5.4 and v10's from around 98 or 99 had the short thread issues that was long talked about in the v10 area, yet even some of us that had early 3 valve motors with the first pencil plugs had issues to deal with when the 2 piece plugs broke coming out

If I recall from previous discussions around here, the change from short thread to long thread heads came around the changeover from model year 2002 to model year 2003. Over in the Excursion section there have been numerous threads on this with folks suffering short thread plug blowouts and the EX didn’t begin production until 2000.
