Is there a way to identify whether your V-10 is the higher output model for the 2000 model year by either VIN number or motor serial number?? I ordered mine in May/June of 1999 and took delivery in Mid October of 1999...
It was identified as a 2000 model year vehicle on the invoice and confirmation but I'm not sure if the V-10 motor is the more powerful version or not...
I have the very same concern. My V-10 was oredered in August 99 and not delivered until January 00. It to claims to be a 2000 model, but can't get the dealer to figure out whether it is the enhanced 2000 engine.
Send me the code off the drivers side valve cover and I can tell you wether you have the improved engine or not. You can respond direct to cndream@magicnet.net . I dont read the message board that frequently. If any one else wants to know about their V-8 or V-10 engine I have a complete listing, all I need is the code numbers.
Your engine tag indicates the engine power version in each truck
For the year model 1999 there were
four codes for this engine. All were non power improved versions
