Bad cycling

Bought a 2011 6.7 roughly 3 months ago and
I just recently had to replace both batteries as they both had bad cells. I know that is a tell tale sign of bad cycling. I have roughly a 15-20 minute commute to work essentially 10 miles. I let truck warm up for 15 minutes but it still seems to not be getting warm enough. I’m curious as to how long some of you let yours warm up to avoid this issue. I know the drive isn’t all that long but I tow occasionally on the weekends so the diesel is nice to have.

There is a setting in forscan to change the charge goal. I think the default is 80% .

Diesels are notorious for being cold idlers. I can idle my tractor all day and be just under 140*. Only when I work it does it get up to normal temps. In the winter, block off the front grill and just drive it, dont waste fuel letting it idle, it will heat up faster with load on it. Also at idle, the alternators arent producing enough current to charge the batteries to their fullest. They work best starting around 1500 RPM. Do you know if it has the supplemental heater? Those work off the electric system, and work best when driving. Put to Max Defrost and they will power up and provide heat within minutes. I get full heat within a few miles of my house, however I am doing 55 MPH out of my driveway.
