U0100:00-8B - Missing Communication With ECM(Engine Control Module)/PCM (Powertrain Control Module)
Code Thrown:
- U0100:00-8B - Missing Communication With ECM(Engine Control Module)/PCM (Powertrain Control Module) A
- No crank, no start
- Only white gear lights, no orange selected gear
- Service Advancetrack
- Temp icon on dash
- Checking firewall connections by battery
- Checking firewall grounds by battery
- Wiggling connector attached to e-brake bracket
- Going to physically disconnect harness from e-brake assembly, pull it apart and connect it again. Then zip-tie it up to something else
I drove it a week or two ago without an issue. Snow is in the forecast so I got the plow mounts on the other night and was going to get the plow on, but the truck would not start. When the key is turned to accessory I noticed it does not indicated the gear with an orange light (they all light up white, just no indicated gear is selected). It can shift through them all and it does physically enter them (or at least I can tell it hits neutral). But when I hit the key it just clicks, and not from the starter, just from the passenger side dash area. Also the door switches (locks, windows, etc) go out while I hit the key temporarily). It pops up with a temp warning icon on the dash and also says to "Service Advancetrack". I scanned it and the only code that comes back is this one I checked the passenger side firewall connections under the hood and they all seem good. The grounds under those are connected. I checked the connector under the driver side dash by the e-brake and pushed on it, wiggled it, and that seemed fine.
Any ideas? I just drove this not long ago without a problem, all of a sudden it just refuses to even try and start?
So now is figuring out how the hell I can fix this (because replacing the entire fuse box is definitely not happening). I don't know if it is possible to even get that thing back up in place, that is an internal post that has no external wire to bypass.
Any ideas on the best way to go about this, or has anyone done this before?
