Received a message from service department, stated powertrain control module needs to be recalibrated for emissions, why am I leery of this, I live in Florida and we don't test emissions, thanks
Since it is emissions, they will bug you about it until it gets done, it is federal, not state, feds bug Ford, Ford bugs you.
And, there is no performance reason to not get it done, just the time it takes you to take it in.
Might want to wait for someone who had it done already chime in and hear about the before and after differences. If it guzzles more DEF after the update you might want to keep putting it off as long as possible. This is almost certainly reacted to the Cummins settlement for cheating emissions. Ford might be trying to cover their ***.

The newer Cummins uses considerably more DEF but less EGR. Seems like a win to me.

Is it a win if your DEF injector is being used more frequently which could result in more frequent service/replacement? Is the EGR a problem on the newest 6.7s?

Not a problem that I know of but the oil stays somewhat cleaner and there's less carbon build up. You had to replace the EGR filter at 68k miles on the pre '19 trucks but that requirement is now gone.
theres a service bulliten that require a reprogram becuase the existing program does not do NOX alerts very well. so if your NOX sensors are reading high NOX, you could get bad news.
