I removed the ignition cylinder so I could replace the multi function signal/wiper switch. Now the "key in ignition" tone sounds when I open the door. Without the key in the ignition.
Pull the cylinder and look at the switch for the tone. It's the black ring at the outer edge of where the cylinder goes in. The plastic will crack easily. Take a look I think I used a zip tie to fix the last one.

This is the spring loaded tab that turns on the key in ignition warning
You can pull the ignition lock cylinder back out and try to reassemble it back on there correctly
That plastic holder breaks its tabs sometimes and the thing gets loose on there
Might have to replace the key and cylinder to fix it or disconnect the wire
It grounds the tab when the key is inserted
Disconnect that wire and you lose the warning
On the outside of the housing, where the ignition lock gets inserted, is where the pickup for the spring loaded tab is, and where the wire is at
That part falls off too and has tabs that break if you are rough with removing the lock cylinder
If that wire grounds, you get the warning
Good luck
