I have a question about my secondary cooling system. When I cold start my truck and have my EX link app open the secondary cooling temp starts at -temp then immediately goes to 149*. Is this a bad temp sensor? If it is where is it? Thank You!
My Banks iDash usually shows a temp from 90s to just over 100 degrees, IIRC, for the secondary cooling system temps. So maybe a bad secondary temp sensor?
Hello. I just came from the Ford dealer and the only coolant temp sensor they can find other than the one on the engine for primary coolant is on the oil filter housing. That doesn’t make sense to me. I just got home and took off my grill and air box and followed every coolant like from the tank to the pump to the radiator to the the water pump to the intercooler to a fuel cooler to an oil cooler. Sorry my order of them is off. I see the high temp and low temp thermostats but no temp sensor anywhere in line in a hose or any other type. Wondering if 2013 didn’t have one?? I found an oem harness with a 2 wire plug with an OEM plug/cap in the area where I have read the temp sensor is in the newer trucks. Not sure what else it would be for?

Secondary coolant (ECT2) sensor on the 2013 is located on the EGR cooler. See pic below.
If your truck went on a diet, then you will not have an ECT2 sensor, the plug will be capped/taped under the hood and any temp you see on EZ-Lynk is made up by the tune and should be ignored.
Yes this is also what I have found. I did also find that in 2015 they moved the sensor to inline of a hose coming up to the degas bottle. It’s a T fitting with the temp sensor in it. I’m wondering if I can have my ez-link setup to where the tuning company can set up that input and I can install the oem sensor in the hose like the 2015 has. I would really like to be able to monitor the secondary coolant temp.
