Trans P1783 - help
Hi guys-
I thought I had figured out my trans issues by replacing the trans cooler, the front-end cooling lines, and just recently the thermal bypass valve. I went on a 40 minute ride to get things warmed up to then check to see if the cooling system was working. But, the trans started making that whirring sound whenever I would give it even a little gas to accelerate. I then saw on the odometer the ‘service trans’ message. My BlueDriver gave this code: P1783 Transmission Overtemperature Condition. Here’s the crazy part: I crawled under the truck to check the cooling lines, they are all NOT HOT. Not even the output line from the trans. AND the dipstick shows plenty of fluid. Is there some kind of pump in the transmission that can go bad? It’s the only thing I can think of since the output line isn’t hot before it gets to the bypass valve.
Any thoughts? Thanks
Something inside the trans is blocking the flow to the cooler. I don't know this trans well enough to get really specific on what's wrong.
