Trying to remove starter out of 1950 f3 truck. Have removed all bolts that hold it in place but not able to swing down plate that it is atteched to . is there something else I should do. PS it will wiggle so it is loose. Thanks
You loosen the two starter length bolts at the end of the starter and pull the whole starter out. These bolts thread about 3/8" into the mounting flange. Don't pull these bolts out of the starter as the starter will come out in pieces that is not fun to reassemble.
There may also be one "L" shaped bracket under one of the mounting bolts that attaches to a bolt on the oil pan. Remove the oil pan bolt to free this bracket.
