Hey Friends. Just a quick PSA -> Don't ignore that noise in your AC/Heater fan. I assumed it was a gum wrapper or something else benign.
I went to address it one time while replacing the heat/cool actuator. I had directions for a F350. They said the blower motor was under the dash I didn't finish the job as it didn't seem possible and I thought I had more important things to address elsewhere.
Well, now I have no heat/ac and it's obvious why. The fan has exploded and ate a 6x4" hole in the case.
Just put another blower motor in it and tape up the case
Next time replace it before it gets so bad
They seem to only last 110k miles or so
The 96 and newer ones start to squeak around 36k has been my experience
