Hey everyone, im new to this forum. Ive been on the mustanggt.org forum for about 2 years but then when i bought my 95 f-350. i felt it was time to leave that and come here. Well heres my questions. when i turn on the heat, or ac for that matter. there was always a wierd noise comin out of the vents and just recently air wont blow from the vents unless i have the fan setting on the highest mark. and at that it makes a terrible noise like somethings grinding and it must be hard for it to turn because it sends my altermeter tumbling down to near almost discharging. and if its on max speed and i turn it to the next available setting i hear it stop almost immedieatly. would this be the blower motor. could something be possibly stuck in it or something for it to stop working?
I'm pretty sure there is a blower moter relay near the heater core behind the glove box. i've heard it is bad if the blower only works on high.... I'm new too, so this is only a lead for you....
hey thanks man were both new thats cool. ill have to check that out definetly but would a relay cause the blower to make a grinding noise like its laboring very bad?
If the fan only works on high it's ususally the blower motor resistor you can see it under the hood sticking out of the heater box they are only about 20 bucks at the dealer. There should be a plastic plug going to it with four or five wires coming out.If your also hearing a grinding noise you may need new motor too.
I'd take the few minutes to pull the blower motor and make sure nothing is caught in it, then spin it by hand, if it doesn't spin freely or you can feel it grind then replace the motor

is it a hard job to pull out the motor? what type of tools do you need and is it a job u can do in ur driveway. hopefully it doesnt involve pulling ur dash apart does it? thanks alot everyone for ur imput
You can get to it from under the hood in your driveway. The only tool you need is the right size wrench and maybe a stepladder since its on the firewall by the heater box.
