initial mix with a front end loader. i bucket sheet to 3 buckets dirt. then mix it a few times and stack it behind the read 90 screening plant. we turn it a few times every two or three weeks with a cat 315 excavator to help composition before screening. when we get down to around 20 loads of screened and ready to deliver, run it through the screening plant, then stack it in a bin.
three loads brought home, and fueled up all three trucks. 175 gallons of diesel in the. one took 45, one took 60, and one took 70.
plus 100 gallons into the service truck.
all machines have fuel tanks topped off for winter storage, and all truck tanks are full.
cant tell what fuel prices are going to do, so i took advantage of the current $3.15 per gallon cost and filled everything up.

I really didn't think there were any shovels involved. you know, those kind of round pointy thing with a long wooden handle? LOL
good morning jersey. looks like snow about noon, 1 to 2 inches again. spent yesterday fixing the snow blower that wouldn't start, i was out of efree gas and had gotten 5 gallons of jersey junk, 30 days and a little go by, both the mower and blower wouldn't start, what a mess in the fuel bowls , i grabbed a gallon of the good stuff from lowes, OUCH, just incase i need the blower, for sure am going to be making a 75 mile each way trip up NY17 to wurtsboro for 30 gallons of 91 efree for my yard tools .NOT fun fixing machines in the toolshed with no heat or electric ,
top soil wise
that mix is what the contractor put down after the septic was done, nothing grew in it, too much horse sheeettt burned the seed
might have been too "fresh". ours usually sits 4-6 months before screening , then another 4 months or so before selling to let it compost.
we also turn it to add oxygen for the composting. it helps get the PH rite so it does not "Burn" anything that touches it.
this even had a lot of sand/gravel in it tom. pure sheettttt , i'll need a tandem of good soil come spring and found a farmer willing to sell me some
good eve guys snowing hard here now,
